Types of paintWith the advancement of science, there are now different kinds of paint for different purposes. Most paints are solvent based as well as water-based paint with anti-fugal function and has a certain amount of hiding power to cover hairline cracks. Some like the Nippon Paint Easy wash or Dulex Wash and wear are even formulated for easy cleaning just in case your walls are dirtied especially if there are children or pets in your house. Others are introduced a formula such that there would not be a heavy ammonia smell when the renovations are done.

However, there are also many naturally based options. They are natural paints made from plant based ingredient like linseed oil. The colouring pigments both man-made and natural are available in powdered or liquid form. Alternatively, you can opt to buy your ‘natural’ paint ready mixed. However, they may be a little more expensive then solvent or water-based paint and may take much longer to dry. But they will significantly reduce damaging chemical pollutants in your indoor air.

More importantly, there are different finishes to the paint depending on what kind of feeling you want in your house. Most have a matt finish but some are able to give a soft silky feeling or a pearl glow adding a touch of sophistication to your home. Whatever you choose, do make sure that it suits the general theme of the house and choice of furnishing.
