Is your air-conditioner installed by authorized installer?

And is the installation of approved methods?

Improper air-conditioner installation and negligence in maintenance can be a time bomb threatening other’s safety or creates noise nuisance to your neighbors. Flat owners can be penalized if an air-conditioner falls because of improper maintenance, and improper air-conditioner unit installation can carry a maximum penalty of a fine of up to $5000 or up to six months of jail-term or both.

Uncertain whether your vendor is an authorized installer?
Check it out at BCA’s website www.bca.gov.sg.
Go to Home -> Building Control & Management -> Legislation of Air-Con Supports.
Here you will find a list of authorized installer who are BCA-trained.

For approved methods of installation, visit HDB InfoWeb at www.hdb.gov.sg.
Go to Home Owners -> Renovating Your Home -> HDB Renovation Guidelines -> Air-conditioners Installation Works.

Just as you want to feel safe walking under the flats, let us all play our part in maintaining a hazard-free living environment.

Do you know?
